God Is Still Rising: Remembering Nipsey Hussle

This past Wednesday was the birthday of the late Nipsey Hussle. I remember when Nipsey emerged onto the independent rap scene about ten years ago. I was about to graduate from high school and head off to college. His mix tapes were popular when I was in college and he finally released his debut album Victory Lap last year.  I became intrigued by his life story. I admired his transition from gang member to father, businessman, and philanthropist. I became a bigger fan of his music last Fall I admit was more focused on learning from Nipsey's business skills. His music is the rap and hip hop I grew up on. He had lyrical abilities, meaningful content, etc. I was saddened by his passing because I saw how much it hurt his family and the city of Los Angeles. However, his legacy will truly live on I have seen many people I know that now want to become entrepreneurs. Nipsey lived long enough do all the things Tupac said he wanted to do and I believe that is beautiful. I plan on doing another post dedicated Nipsey. His legacy must be protected because it has already been under attack.I shared this video from his home going celebration because I believe Minister Farrakhan delivered an amazing eulogy.  Continue to rest in power brother.
